Our Beliefs

As Independant Fundamental Baptist, we have very defined beliefs about the basic principles of Christianity. At the core of these beliefs is that we have a loving and just Creator, Redeemer, Saviour and Friend in Jesus Christ our Lord.  If you don't know Him as your personal Saviour, please contact us today.  We would love to tell you about the free gift that He has given to you.

  1. The True God
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God: that He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutable, and infinitely Holy; that He exists eternally in Three Persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that these three though One, are yet Three Distinct Persons and are equal in every divine perfection. Deut. 4:35; Isa. 44:6; Gen. 17:1; Psa. 139:1-7; Jer. 23:23; Psa. 102:26-27; Psa. 99:9
  2. Jesus Christ
    1. His Identity
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God who exists eternally with God: that He is the Saviour whom God sent into the world to redeem the world. John 1:1-34
    2. His Incarnation
We believe that He took upon Himself flesh and dwelt among men here on this earth: that He was at one and the same time both God and man. John 1:14; Phil. 2:5-7.
    3. His Virgin Birth
We believe that He came to earth in the flesh by way of the Virgin Birth, born of a woman who had never been sexually intimate with man. Therefore, He had no earthly father, but was conceived in the womb of this virgin woman by the Holy Spirit. Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-23
    4. His Death
We believe that He died by way of crucifixion on the Cross at a place called Calvary, that He died as man’s substitute suffering the full wrath of God, and thereby paid the penalty of sin. Matt. 27:33-54; I Cor. 15:3.
    5. His Blood
We believe that His blood, which He shed in death at Calvary, is the only atonement for the sins of man, and that it is sufficient to wash away the sins of every person. Heb. 9:22; Eph. 1:7; I John 1:7.
    6. His Resurrection
We believe that He ascended back into Heaven from whence He came and is now at the right hand of the Father carrying on His ministry of intercession. Luke 24:50-51; Acts 2:31-33; Heb. 7:25; 12:2; I John 2:1
    7. His Ascension
We believe that there will be a personal and visible return of this same Jesus in like manner as He ascended back into Heaven; that, in fulfillment of His own promise, He will return to receive His own and set up His Kingdom on earth where He will rule for the period of a thousand years which period is known as the Millenium; this then makes His Second coming Premillenial. John 14:3; Acts 1:10-11; I Thess. 13:18; Rev. 19:11-16; Rev. 20:4-6.
  3. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity and not an abstract power of influence; that He is sent into the world to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and to seal the believer until the day of redemption. Matt. 28:19; John 16:7-14; Eph. 1:13: Eph 4:30.
  4. The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Spirit of God: that its primary purpose is the salvation of sinners; and that it does not merely contain the truth, but is the truth-the standard by which all truth must be tested. II Tim. 3:15; Peter 1:21; John 17:17.
  5. Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that he fell from his perfect state by voluntary transgression; that since that first transgression all men are born in sin and have, through inheritance, a depraved nature utterly devoid of the holiness required by the law of God; that he is a sinner by nature, choice, and practice, and is therefore under just condemnation, without defense or excuse. Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 2:17; Gen. 3:1-6; Rom. 5:12; Psa.. 51:5.
  6. The Way of Salvation
We believe that the only way man can be saved from eternal ruin is by truly repenting of his sin and trusting on Jesus Christ, God’s Son as his personal Saviour; that such an experience consummates the New Birth. He is transformed or regenerated by God’s Spirit and becomes a true child of God; that this so great salvation is wholly by the grace of God, a free gift of God’s love and cannot be obtained by any good works or deeds of men. We further believe that since salvation is by God’s grace alone, when it comes to the individual heart is theirs for time and eternity-they are kept by the power of God through the faith unto salvation. Luke 13:3; John 1:12; Acts 4:12; 16:31; Eph. 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5; John 5:24; I Peter 1:3-5.
  7. The Church
    1. Mystery Form
We believe that the true church is the mystical union of all Born Again Believers, who, in their unity compose the body of Christ, with Christ Himself as its Head. I Cor. 12:13; Eph 3:3-11; 5:32; 1:20-22; 5:23-24.
    2. Local
We believe the local church is an assembly of baptized believers, associated by the covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word. II Cor. 1:1; Gal. 1:2; Acts 5:11; Rev. 12:1, 8, 12, 18; 3:1, 7, 14.
  8. Church and Ordinances
We believe that the Ordinances enjoined of baptized believers, associated by Christ, and to be observed by the church are two: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper: that these are positive and sacred institutions, and the obligation to honor and observe them comes directly from the authority of Christ who appointed them. Matt. 28:19; 26:26-29; Luke 22: 17-20; I Cor. 11:23-30.
    1. Baptism
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of one who has truly had a personal saving experience with Christ; that it symbolizes the believer being buried with Christ and raised to walk with Him in newness of Life; that this ordinance must be administered in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    2. The Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by those who have been truly saved by Christ, and is to be observed only after a solemn self-examination; that it is a commemoration of the dying love of the Lord Jesus-the bread symbolizing His broken body, and the juice of grapes symbolizing His shed blood-these, being taken together show forth His death until He comes again.
  9. The World to Come
We believe that the end of this present world will come by fire and the world to come will be eternal; that in the world to come there will be two eternal places; a place of endless joy for all the people of God who have been saved by His grace, and a place of endless punishment for all who have never been reconciled to God by the blood of Christ. These two places are known as Heaven and Hell.
    1. Heaven
A place of beauty and bliss, wherein dwelleth righteousness, where God will dwell with His people forever. II Cor. 12:2-4; 5:1; I Peter 1:3-5; Rev. 21-22.
    2. Hell
A place of ceaseless torment, characterized by fire and brimstone, a place where all who have scorned God’s love will suffer forever. Luke 16:19-31; Matt. 5:22, 29, 30; Matt. 23:33; Rev. 21:8.
  10. The Devil
We believe in the personality of Satan, that he is not merely an abstract power of influence, but a living, personal being; that he is the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air; that he is constantly going up and down in the earth seeking whom he may devour. He does not possess the attributes of God. John 8:44; II Cor. 4:4; Eph. 2:2; 1 Peter 5:8.
  11. The Christian Walk
We believe that a person, once he has truly accepted Christ as Saviour, is a new creation in Christ and that he should live a Holy, consecrated life; that he should separate himself from the world and all its lusts in obedience to the command of God. Col. 2:6; I Peter 2:9; II Cor. 5:17; II Cor. 6:17-18; I John 2:15; II Tim. 2:19.
  12. Judgement
We believe that everyone, saved and unsaved, shall face God in judgement. According to the Scriptures, the judgement of the saved will be separate from the judgement of the unsaved. We believe the Scriptures teach that those Judgements shall be as follows:
    1. Judgement of Christians-(The Judgement Seat of Christ)-II Cor. 5:10
Christians shall at this time be judged according to their works from the time they received Christ Jesus as their Saviour until the time they stand before Him in Judgement. They shall be rewarded or they shall suffer loss according as their works shall be. I Cor. 3:11-15.
    2. Judgement of the Unsaved-(The Great White Throne Judment) Rev 20:11-15
All unsaved shall at this time be judged according to their works and cast into the lake of fire to suffer forever according as their works shall be.
